School Saving BonusIn Term 4, 2024, families with a child enrolled in a government school from Prep to Year 12 in 2025 will receive the one-off $400 School Saving Bonus. The $400 School Saving Bonus provides families with support for education-related costs, such as school activities and/or school uniforms and textbooks. The School Saving Bonus is not available for full-fee international students, home schooled students, TAFE students and students attending kindergarten in 2025. Actions for parents and carers Before 18 October 2024, the Department of Education is asking parents and carers to: - Complete enrolment: If your child, or children are changing government school for Term 1 2025, or starting Prep or Year 7 in 2025. You can check this information by contacting us directly. We need to ensure your contact information is up to date as the Department of Education will email you twice: - in October, to verify your email address - in November, with your $400 School Saving Bonus and access to an online system. Please check your junk mail regularly to make sure you do not miss an important email. Prep/Foundation enrolmentStarting school is an exciting time for children, parents and carers. We want to help make the enrolment process as easy as possible for you. Each year, the department releases the Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents/Carers, with information packs available from the beginning of Term 2 for students commencing foundation/prep the following year. These information packs, and other important information, can be found on the Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) page of the Victorian Government website. Year 7 transitionEnrolling your child in Year 7 is an important part of their education journey. We want to help you make the transition process as easy as possible. Each year, the department releases Year 6 to Year 7 placement information for schools and for parents/carers, with information packs available from the beginning of Term 2 for students commencing Year 7 the following year. School zonesOur school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones. Students residing in our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. Our school also has additional capacity available to welcome students who are outside of our school zone. Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.
