School Chaplain

In 2021 we were successful in our application for a school Chaplain! We are very happy to introduce to you, Tara Foster, who has been appointed to the position of School Chaplain at our school. Tara joins our school to support the emotional wellbeing of students by providing pastoral care services and strategies that support the emotional wellbeing of the broader school community.

The Chaplain will:

  • Work as a member of the school’s wellbeing team in the delivery of student wellbeing services
  • Contribute to improving student engagement, learning and connectedness
  • Contribute to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students
  • Operate within the school community and with external providers

At Paynesville Primary School the Chaplain engages with all students both in the classroom and playground to support learning, engagement and general well-being. Where the Chaplain is engaging with students on an individual basis (one-on-one discussions with a student) and/or in a group setting (discussions with groups of students), these services will only be provided to students if parent/carer consent has been obtained by returning the NSCP Consent Form.

Parents who would like their child to spend time with our Chaplain for any reason, please contact the office and Tara will be in touch with you.

Hi Paynesville Primary School Community!

I’m super excited to be coming on board as your Chaplain at Paynesville PS!

I have been living in Paynesville for the past year after moving to East Gippsland in 2019.

I love music, board games, hiking and getting out in my kayak.

I will be working across all year levels, so keep an eye out for me in the playground and come say hi!

Just for fun, here’s a photo of me hiking in one of my favourite places, Hawaii!
